Section 163. Recognition of tourist promotion agencies

  • The commissioner,
      upon investigation and receipt of certified copies of  such  resolutions
      as  may  be necessary to satisfy him that a tourist promotion agency has
      been duly designated to represent a particular county or counties or the
      city of New York, as set forth in section one hundred sixty-four of this
      article, shall recognize such tourist promotion agency as the sole  such
      agency  within  such county or counties or the city of New York. Any two
      or more counties may, by the procedures  herein  provided,  designate  a
      single  tourist  promotion agency to represent them for the promotion of
      tourism in their region and for the purposes of this act.
