Section 79-I. Joint meeting of town boards

1. The town boards of the several towns shall, prior to the effective date of consolidation, meet in a joint session, at such times and in like manner as required by law for existing towns, to prepare and approve a budget for the new town. In addition to other requirements of law, such budgets shall be filed with the clerks of each of the several towns, and jointly presented to the county board of supervisors by the supervisors of the several towns, as required by law for existing towns. 2. During the year in which a consolidation shall become effective, the legislative body of the county shall, upon due presentation to them of the assessment rolls, make such changes and transfers therein as shall reflect the changed status of the towns affected by such merger or consolidation. * NB Repealed March 21, 2010
