Section 59-K. Proceedings

  • Whenever  the  United  Nations  is  desirous  of
      acquiring  land   by   purchase   for   any   of   its   purposes,   the
      secretary-general   of  the  United  Nations,  or  other  representative
      designated by him, may apply for any relief permitted by the laws of the
      state of New York that may be necessary for  the  purpose  of  acquiring
      such  land,  to  any  court  of the state having jurisdiction within the
      county in which the land is located.  All deeds, conveyances  and  other
      papers  relating  to the title of lands within the state acquired by the
      United Nations pursuant to the provisions  of  this  article,  or  other
      general  or  special  law,  federal,  state or local, shall be filed and
      recorded in the office of the register, if any, or if not in the  office
      of  the  county  clerk  of  the  county  where  the land is located, and
      certified copies filed in the office of the secretary of  state  of  the
      state of New York at Albany.
