Section 56. City social services districts

  • The city of New York shall
      have all the powers and duties of a social services district insofar  as
      consistent with the provisions of the special and local laws relating to
      such  city.    The  officers  thereof charged with the administration of
      public assistance and care shall have additional powers and duties of  a
      commissioner  of social services not inconsistent with the laws relating
      to said city.
