Section 1599-G. Construction and purchase contracts

Latest version.
  • The authority shall
let contracts for construction in the same manner as is provided by law
for contracts of the city, except that where the estimated expense of a
contract does not exceed five thousand dollars, such contracts may be
entered into without public letting. Nothing in this section shall be
construed to limit the power of the authority to do any construction
directly by the officers, agents and employees of the authority.
Contracts for the purchase of supplies, material and equipment shall be
let in the same manner as is provided in this section. If the authority
shall deem it in the public interest or necessary or desirable to
effectuate the purposes of this chapter or the economy and efficiency in
construction and operation of a project, the authority by majority vote
of its members may either reject all bids or readvertise for bids or by
two-thirds vote of its members may accept a bid other than the lowest
bid; provided however that the reasons for any such vote shall be stated
      in the authority's official minutes.
