Section 15-1607. Great Lakes basin; consultation required

If the department registers a withdrawal that will result in a new water loss to the Great Lakes basin averaging in excess of five million gallons per day in any thirty-day period, or an increase in an existing withdrawal that will result in a water loss averaging in excess of five million gallons per day in any thirty-day period above the applicant's authorized base level of water loss, the department shall implement prior notice and consultation procedures in the manner developed under subdivision five of section 15-1611 of this title and shall notify the offices of the governors and premiers of the respective Great Lakes states and provinces and the agency responsible for management of the water resources in each state or province of the Great Lakes region and, where appropriate the international joint commission.
