Section 5-353. Authority to acquire real estate outside the state of New York

The city  is  authorized  to  acquire  by  purchase,  lease,  or  otherwise,  lands  or water in any other state, or rights, interests, or
  privileges in, to or over any lands or water in any other state for  the
  purpose of supplying water to the city.
